City recognized for excellence in financial reporting
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada has awarded the City of Gardner with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ending in 2017.

City to host Martin Luther King Jr. Exhibit
The City of Gardner will host an educational exhibit to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Jan. 18 and 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., in the City Hall Council Chambers.

INTERSECTION CLOSURE AND WATER SHUTOFF MONDAY!
Starting Monday, Dec. 17, the intersection of Concord and Broadmore Drive will be closed to allow city line maintenance crews to make improvements to the utility system, replacing a section of a water line under the road.

Scheduled Power Outage For Sunset Ridge Subdivision
A planned outage is scheduled for Sunset Ridge Subdivision on Thursday, Dec. 13, from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. to allow the city's electrical team to replace a section of failed underground cable.

The City of Gardner will host its annual citizens academy, Gardner You! beginning Jan. 24. Gardner You! is a seven-week interactive civic and public information program that focuses on educating residents and business owners about the city’s governmental processes.

The City of Gardner will host its 22nd annual Halloween Boo Bash event on Monday, Oct. 29, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Celebration Park, 32501 W. 159th St. Due to the rainy forecast and cold temperatures the event was moved from Thursday, October 25.
