Providing public electricity is a complex task. Behind it lies a series of highly technical functions, such as the generation of power, the transmission of the power, and the final distribution of power to the individual customers.  The Electric Division is responsible for the planning, development, production, purchase, transmission, and distribution of all electricity for the City of Gardner.

The two branches of the Electric Division are:

Electric Distribution: responsible for delivering and maintaining electricity directly to the individual homes and businesses.

Electric Generation and Substations: responsible for providing and maintaining the energy needs of the City.
