Hunter Education is a long-standing public education program of the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks. This course includes training in hunter responsibility, ethics, history of firearms, firearm basics and more. Instructors will demonstrate safe firearms handling. No ammunition allowed!

All students will receive a program manual. Participants are required to read the entire manual and answer all the review questions. You must attend all classes to be eligible for completion. Upon completion of the course, a certificate will be given.

Minimum age is 11. Please bring a black pen and a highlighter to classes. The course will be taught by Hunter Education instructors and the Gardner Police Department. 

Light refreshments will be provided on October 9 and 10. Lunch will be provided on October 12!
