The Southwest Multi-Service Center (SWMSC) provides utility assistance for low-income residents of Gardner, Edgerton and Spring Hill. All persons must qualify by their income and contact our phone agent line (913.715.6653) for a screening and to set up an appointment. The SWMSC also offers food pantry and other helpful services to qualifying residents. Please call 913.715.6653 for questions, screening and scheduling appointments. No walk-ins allowed, all services are by appointment only.

The Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) is a federally funded program
that helps eligible households pay a portion of their home energy costs. The
application period to apply for LIEAP benefits starts the Tuesday after MLK Holiday through the close of business on the last business day of March. To find out if you are eligible for LIEAP assistance or to get more
information about the program, visit the LIEAP website. You may
