The City of Gardner has several state-of-the-art storm warning sirens. The Johnson County Emergency Management Department tests the sirens on the first Wednesday of each month at 11:00 a.m. These sirens are an outdoor warning system and are not meant to be heard inside your home or in your basement.

If an actual tornado emergency is in effect in Gardner, the Police Department will have officers in patrol cars using their vehicle sirens to help warn residents. Officers encourage every resident to invest in an early warning weather station. For further information regarding tornado preparedness visit www.noaa.org.
