All canines (dogs) and felines (cats) living in the City Limits of Gardner are required to have a city license for each calendar year. The prices for the durable tags are $14.00 for a non-spay or non-neutered animal and $7.00 for a spay or neutered animal. Tags can be purchased at the Gardner Police Department building or by mail. To purchase a City license for your animal, you will need to provide a copy of a current rabies vaccination. Licenses maybe purchased with cash or a personal check; no credit or debit cards will be accepted.

If you have any questions regarding an animal control issue, please contact our Animal Control Officer who is available Monday-Friday from 8:00AM-4:00PM. The Animal Control Officer can be available anywhere in the City limits for personal contact at the Gardner Police Department or by telephone at 913.856.7312. Patrol Officers will pick up animals when the Animal Control Officer is not available but if you have questions, please direct them to our Animal Control Officer. Animals that are impounded by the Gardner PD will be lodged at the Gardner Animal Hospital.
