The project will include the construction of a new sidewalk on the west side of Center St. from Shawnee to McKinley and ADA improvements at the northeast corner of the Center St bridge over the BNSF railroad. Widening of the sidewalk on the bridge is no longer part of this project.

• Project is scheduled to be let by KDOT on October 19, 2022.
• The early construction date will be determined after the letting and the late start date has been set at May 6, 2023.
• Construction bids were opened in October 2022. The price was significantly higher than expected and therefore the project scope has been reduced and the project will be re-advertised in 2023.
• Construction has begun with initial grading, utility relocation, tree removal, and concrete driveway and stair removal.
• Duration is 60 working days with an estimated completion date of November 2023.
