Project Location: U.S. 56/Main Street (Sycamore Street to Old 56 Highway)

Description:  This project is jointly funded by the City and KDOT and stretches nearly a mile long along US-56 from Sycamore Street to Old 56. The primary components of the project will include:

• full-depth pavement reconstruction,
• removal and replacement of curb and gutter,
• driveway and sidewalk enhancements,
• a new traffic signal at the intersection between QuikTrip and Walgreens,
• signal timing interconnection between the new signal and the existing signal at Moonlight,
• reduction/combining of access points,
• a new left-turn lane for eastbound traffic at Cedar Street.

 Traffic will be reduced to one-lane each direction throughout construction and access to businesses along US-56 will be maintained.

Anticipated Completion Date: Construction set to begin mid-February 2022 with a completion time in mid-November 2022.
