The Gardner Police Department is holding another Women's Self Defense Workshop on May 11th, 2017 from 6:00pm till 9:00pm. Participants in the 3-hour class will receive both classroom and hands-on training on situational awareness, prevention, and self-defense.
During the hands-on portion of this training you will literally be “hands on.” With that in mind, bringing a friend might make this portion of the training a bit more comfortable.
Participants are asked to wear athletic-type clothing, with no buttons or zippers. Socks and long sleeve shirts are required. Participants are encouraged to bring a water bottle and a light snack.
Enrollment is open to females 17 years of age or older. The department is planning future classes for a younger age group, but class size is limited to 18 participants, so we are keeping the age threshold at 17 for this class. The course is FREE, but you MUST pre-register. The registration documents can be downloaded at http://www.gardnerkansas.gov/government/departments-and-divisions/women-s-self-defense-workshop.
