At Gardner Parks and Recreation, we provide more than a hundred ways for you to be active no matter the season.  Whether you're looking for an athletic program, an instructional class, or just having fun with friends and family at one of our special events or parks, the Gardner Parks and Recreation Department offers a wide variety of activities to entertain, educate, and exercise the minds and bodies of all ages.

Open Gym- Basketball

  • Introduction: Basketball season is here and GPRD would like to provide you with some extra opportunities to work on your game!

Basketball season is here and Gardner Parks and Recreation would like to provide you with extra opportunities to work on your game!  There is NO fee to come, however we do ask that if you are under the age of 14, an adult must stay.  Each participant will be asked to follow our open gym guidelines and those not abiding by these will be asked to leave. 

Schedule:
 Sundays: January 15, January 22, January 29, February 5 and February 19
 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Wheatridge Middle School

Open Gym Guidelines:
Court space is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Bring your own basketball.  Courts may not be monopolized by a team or group if there others wanting to play. 

 No outside food or beverages may be brought into the gym.  Water is permitted.

 Profanity, abuse of gym equipment/school facilities or physical assaults will result in expulsion from the gym.

 No loitering.  You come to play basketball, not to be a four-hour spectator.

 If you enter the gym you must stay in the gym.

 GPRD is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
